Authorities have led an investigation, and it is said that he was treated with unimaginable cruelty.
Arthur had suffered an unsurvivable brain injury when his stepmother attacked him on 16 June 2020. On Thursday, Emma Tustin was convicted of his murder, and Thomas was found guilty of his manslaughter at Coventry crown court.

Arthur Labinjo-Hughes’s biological mother, Olivia Labinjo, has paid tribute to her son from her prison cell. His mum was an alcoholic, and when he was 19 months old, she and Thomas had separated.
Olivia then took him to live with Gary Cunningham, whom she met on an alcohol awareness course. She was jailed for 11 years earlier after fatally stabbing Gary at her Harborne flat in February 2019.

She says he loved dressing up as superheroes, reading, and playing football. Arthur’s grandmother, Madeleine Halcrow, read out her daughter’s tribute after footage was released today by West Midlands Police.
She said her child filled her life with joy from the moment he was born, and he was always smiling and had the most curious little mind.
She also said Arthur adored football and was a strong supporter of Birmingham City FC and loved wearing their kit.

Arthur’s father, Thomas Hughes, a laborer, is convicted of manslaughter and child cruelty.
Thomas, 29 years of age, committed this heinous crime with his partner, Emma Tustin, who is 32 years of age.
Prosecutors described the pair as utterly ruthless, unthinking, and pitiless during their trial.
The prosecutors further revealed that Arthur had been subjected to a campaign of appalling cruelty by them and could barely stand by the time Emma murdered him.

Moreover, audio and video recordings from inside their home showed to the jurors. The video showed Arthur was hardly able to say anything and showed him in apparent distress.
He was kicking, punching himself and groaning in pain, and asking to be taken to see a doctor. But his stepmother was enjoying the pain and abuse towards him.
