Things were not easy for him. He was at the verge of death three times with his heart disease. 

As per audios revealed from his colleagues, he had said these days that he needed a catheterization. And, he must request it at the Cruz Jiminian clinic because he did not have any insurance.

Journalist Joseph Caceres wrote, “We regret the death of radio presenter and columnist Joseph Tavárez, who in the 1980s was part of our Arete Nacional program on Radio de Radio Azul in Santiago. He died of a heart attack.“
