She might be sentenced to a short stay in juvenile hall or granted probation at a court hearing this month.

There is another sparking round of outrage over Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón’s all-or-nothing criminal justice reform platform.

Assault: Who Is Hannah Tubbs?

Hannah Tubbs identifies as female, was two weeks shy of her 17th birthday when prosecutors say she walked into the women’s restroom and assaulted a ten-year-old girl.

She locked the girl by the throat in a stall, court records show.

Hannah then shoved her hand down the girl’s pants and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors say, stopping only after someone else entered the restroom.

In recent weeks, Hannah Tubbs case complicated case has drawn increasing frustration from law enforcement officials and politicians.

The situation highlights the problem with attorney Gascón’s blanket ban on trying juveniles as adults.

What Exactly Happened In George Gascón Controversy?

George Gascon is a Los Angeles County District Attorney marked the end of his first year in office by defending his criminal justice. 

George said in the news conference he is not responsible for rising homicides in the city.

Gascon, flanked by more than a dozen district attorneys from other states, addressed the media, saying the so-called “tough-on-crime approach failed”

Switching to English, Gascón, 67, acknowledged his long career in law enforcement.

Gascon said that 40 years ago when he walked his first beat as a young Los Angeles police officer, he was not the same man when he first put on the uniform.

What Was Hannah Tubbs Sexual Assault Victim Name?

The child information prevention policy has not allowed disclosing Hannah Tubbs sexual assault victim name yet. 

The district attorney George Gascon also expressed concern that Hannah would be victimized if placed in an adult facility as a transgender woman.

The Attorney also noted a probation report recommending Tubbs be sentenced to home confinement.

Instead, Attorney said, prosecutors asked for Tubbs to be kept in custody for two years to receive treatment and therapy.

Hannah Tubbs is too old to be legally held in a county juvenile detention facility.

Gov. Gavin Newsom announced his plans to dissolve the state Division of Juvenile Justice, which generally house defendants in situations similar to Tubbs. The county has not put together a replacement program.
