Their 16 years old daughter looked into records from Breslau Synagogue and confirmed that Cathy’s grandfather Artur was in prison with his son. In addition, James said that Artur was lucky enough to have come out of prison and have a life, which is also the reason he has his wife and kids.

James Brokenshire announced his illness in public three years ago. He was diagnosed with lung cancer after he coughed up a spot of blood during an event at Hillsborough Castle as Northern Ireland Secretary.
Soon after that, he stepped down from his Cabinet role to treat his illness. In 2020, he was appointed by Boris Johnson, the Home Office. Again in January 2021, he stepped back from his role after discovering that his lung cancer had returned.
