Previously, Torrence Ivy Hatch Jr. (real name) was arrested for the possession of marijuana and a Glock. A year later, he was again sent to jail for third-offense possession of marijuana charge.
At first, he was sentenced to two years. When he was found violating probation, his sentence got increased for two more years.
In 2010, Boosie was charged with the distribution of narcotics. However, he has denied these accusations multiple times.
In 2011, he was sentenced to eight years for drug charges. Nevertheless, his attorneys were successful in proving that the drug ring charge was a setup.
Thus, the musical artist was released on March 5, 2014. However, he remained on parole until the end of 2018.

Apart from the killing of Terry, some attorneys have accused Boosie of the murder of five others. At that time, he was facing other charges too.
Hence, his attorneys argued that he might be involved in other crimes but he wasn’t a murderer. Thus, the case was closed in June 2011.
Almost a year later, Boosie was proven innocent of the first-degree murder. However, in October 2021, he was arrested and this could be his final arrest.

According to District Attorney Hillar Moore, the killing of Terry was “over turf”. He was the one who stated that he could face the death penalty if proven guilty.
