Toufah Jallow was born to an African family. Her parents are Alpha Jallow and Awa Saho.
She lived in Banjul with her family and studied at the Nusrat Senior Secondary School.

Toufah Jallow was drugged and raped by dictator Yahya Jammeh as she turned down his marriage proposal.
It is only after, Jammeh fall from power, she is able to go public about her story.
In 2015, she had to leave her motherland fearing for her life.
According to her statement, Jammeh was like her mentor. He also expressed interest in funding her charity project.
However, as soon as she declined his marriage proposal, she was drugged and locked in a room.
The incident happened in 2014 during the pre-Ramadan Quran recital at State House.
Several days later, she had to run for her life. Jallow moved to neighbor nation Senegal and escaped to Canada.
