Ralph Emery, a radio and television personality whose steady voice and buttoned-up demeanor were synonymous with country music, has passed away.
Emery died Saturday in a Nashville hospital, according to his family. He was 88 years old.
Shotgun Red: Walter Ralph Emery, Country Music Hall of Famer, and TNN primetime talk show “Nashville Now” host died on Saturday, 15 January 2022.
Emery “died peacefully” in the presence of his family on Saturday morning at Tristar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 88.
Ralph’s family announced the news of his death and said, “Ralph had a great love for his family, friends, and supporters”.
Ralph Emery, who became known as the dean of country music broadcasters over more than a half-century in both radio and television, died of natural causes Saturday, his family said.

Emery was the notable host of ‘Nashville Now’ for a decade, from 1983 to 1993, and he famously interviewed a number of country music stars.
His death has disheartened everyone, and they are currently paying their tributes to him and praying for his family to endure the pain of such a great loss.
Emery, who was born in McEwen, Tennessee in 1933, had a stellar career in the country music biz for more than five decades, first in radio and then on television.
He was honored with the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Country Music Disc Jockey Hall of Fame in 1989. He was also given the title of “Dean of Country Music Broadcasters” by his supporters.
Emery had his own Billboard country hit in 1961 with “Hello Fool” (a cover of Faron Young’s “Hello Walls”), which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard country music singles chart.
The cause of the death of Ralph Emery has not been mentioned in the news by his family. However, it appears that the host die as a result of some illness as he was reported to be in Nashville hospital while he died.
According to the family’s statement, “he was at Tristar Centennial Medical Center surrounded by family.” Unfortunately, no detailed report on Ralph Emery’s death is available at this time.

The host Emery, returned to television in 2015, at the age of 82, to recreate an episode of “Nashville Now”. He was with the former cast members Con Hunley, Ray Stevens, Lorrie Morgan, Barbara Mandrell, and Steve Hall (know for his “Shotgun Red” puppet).

“Ralph Emery’s impact on growing the country music audience is incalculable,” said Kyle Young, CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, in a statement Saturday.

Instead of the peculiar interviewer, he was an easy conversationalist, which made an individual like Tom T. Hall, Barbara Mandrell, Tex Ritter, Marty Robbins, and others revealed their humanity and humor.
He will be greatly missed by us.
Ralph Emery was married to his wife Joy Emery in 1967. Emery’s net worth is estimated to be $35 million at the time of his death.

His wife joy was together with him at the hospital along with his three sons.
Emery was blessed to experience the feeling of grandfather as well as the great grandfather, as he has five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
